📱 Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Your faith journey selection and prayer focus tags (used only to personalize your daily verse)
- Prayer journal entries you write
- Verses you save as favorites
- Your notification time preference
Information collected automatically:
- Crash reports and diagnostic data (via Apple's standard crash reporting — only if you have opted in on your device)
Information we do NOT collect:
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any account credentials
- We do not collect your location
- We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera
- We do not build advertising profiles
- We do not use any third-party analytics SDKs
🏠 Everything Stays On Your Device
Scripture is a fully local, offline-first app. All data — your journal entries, saved verses, streak count, faith preferences, and notification settings — is stored exclusively on your device using secure on-device storage.
- Nothing is transmitted to external servers
- No account or sign-in is required
- Deleting the app removes all your data immediately and permanently
🔔 Notifications
Scripture can send a local daily push notification as your scripture reminder. These notifications are processed entirely on-device — we do not use a third-party push notification service. You can enable or disable notifications at any time from:
- Inside the app: Settings → Daily Scripture toggle
- iOS Settings: Settings → Notifications → Scripture
🗑️ Data Deletion
You have complete control over your data. To delete everything:
- Delete the app from your device — all data is removed immediately
- Or go to Settings → Clear All Data within the app (coming in a future update)
Because we store nothing on external servers, there is nothing on our end to request deletion of.
👶 Children's Privacy
Scripture is rated 4+ and is designed for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since no data leaves your device, children can use the app safely.
🌍 International Users
Scripture is operated from the United States. Because all data is stored locally on your device and no personal information is collected or transmitted, there are no cross-border data transfers to be concerned about. Users in the EEA, UK, or California have no additional obligations under GDPR or CCPA for this app.
📝 Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Scripture after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
