No — WaterBloom works completely without an account. In guest mode, all your data is stored privately on your device. No sign-up, no email required.
If you'd like to back up your progress or use the app on multiple devices, you can create a free account from the Profile tab at any time.
How do I set my daily water goal?
Go to the Profile tab → Water Goal. You can enter a custom goal in milliliters, or let WaterBloom calculate one for you based on your body weight and activity level.
The default goal is 2,000 ml (2 liters), which is a standard recommendation for most adults.
How do I log a drink?
From the Home screen, tap any cup size in the Quick Add row. Your drink is logged instantly.
You can also select a drink type (Water, Coffee, Tea, Juice, Sports Drink, etc.) using the selector chips below the panda before tapping a cup — this lets you track different beverages accurately.
To log a custom amount, scroll right in the Quick Add row and tap the custom cup button.
How does the panda work?
Your panda fills up with water as you log drinks throughout the day. The fill level matches your progress toward your daily goal.
Keep hitting your daily goal consistently and your panda will level up and grow over time. The Panda tab shows your panda's current health, XP, level, and total water given.
My panda looks sad or empty — why?
Your panda's fill level reflects your hydration progress for today. At the start of each day it resets to empty.
Log some water and you'll see your panda fill up right away! The panda also responds to your streak — consistent days keep it happy.
How do challenges work?
The Goals tab shows all available challenges grouped by timeframe — Daily, Weekly, and Monthly.
- Hit Today's Goal — reach your daily water target
- 7-Day Streak — hit your goal seven days in a row
- Morning Routine — log a drink before 9 AM for 5 days
- Early Bird Week — log a drink before 8 AM every day this week
Progress updates automatically as you log drinks.
Why did my streak reset?
Streaks require you to hit your daily water goal every day. If you miss a day — meaning you didn't reach 100% of your goal before midnight — the streak resets to zero.
Tip: Set a reminder notification for the evening so you get a nudge if you're close but haven't hit your goal yet.
How do I set up drink reminders?
Go to Profile → Notifications → Reminders → Manage. You can add reminders for specific times and customize which days of the week they apply to.
WaterBloom will ask for notification permission the first time you set a reminder. If you denied permission previously, enable it in Settings → Notifications → WaterBloom.
I'm not receiving any notifications. What should I check?
Try these steps in order:
- Open Settings → Notifications → WaterBloom and make sure notifications are enabled
- Check that Do Not Disturb / Focus modes aren't blocking WaterBloom notifications
- In the app, go to Profile → Reminders and verify at least one reminder is toggled on
- Restart the app and then your device

How do I back up my data?
Create a free WaterBloom account from the Profile tab → Back Up Your Progress → Create Account. Once you're signed in, your logs, streaks, and panda progress automatically sync to the cloud.
How do I delete my account and data?
Go to Profile → Delete Account. This will permanently delete your account and all associated data from our servers within 30 days.
If you're in guest mode, simply deleting the app removes all local data immediately.
You can also email support@waterbloom.app to request manual deletion.
I deleted the app and lost my data. Can I recover it?
If you were in guest mode, data is stored only on your device and cannot be recovered after deletion — this is by design for privacy.
If you had a WaterBloom account, your data is safe. Re-install the app, sign back in, and everything will sync automatically.
This is why we recommend creating a free account if you want to protect your streak and history.
Why does WaterBloom show ads?
WaterBloom is free to download and use. To keep it that way, we show a small banner ad at the bottom of the home screen. The ad is unobtrusive and never interrupts your experience.

How do I opt out of personalized ads?
You can change your ad tracking preference at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Toggle off WaterBloom to opt out of personalized advertising. You'll still see ads, but they won't be based on your activity across other apps.
